Pericle Salvini

Graduated in Foreign Languages and Literatures, he has a MRes in Theater Studies from the University of Lancaster (UK) and a Ph.D. in BioRobotic Science and Engineering from Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies. He studied several aspects of robot-man interaction: design, acceptability, ethical, legal and social implications, education and art. He also managed several research projects, including the European project RoboLaw, the robotic puppet show Roborama and carried out numerous educational robotics activities in schools. He is the organizer of the summer school "The Regulation of Robotics in Europe: Ethical, Legal and Economic Implications".

Elisa Buselli

Elisa received her Master Degree in Biomedical Engineering (with Honors) from the University of Pisa in 2007. During her PhD at BioRobotics Institute of Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, her research was focused on micro-robotics in minimally invasive surgery and she collaborated in FP6 Eu Project Vector and FP7 Eu Project NanoBioTouch. In 2011 she obtained her PhD in “Health technologies: assessment and management of  innovations in the biomedical field” from University of Pisa. As Post Doctoral Fellow at the BioRobotics Institute she collaborated on italian national projects on Educational Robotics, which combines technological and educational aspects of robotics. In 2015 she was a co-founder of Great Robotics, a spin-off specialized in robotics in education and collaborated actively in organizing robotics activities for schools and the International Pisa Robotics Festival. From 2018 she is also Technology teacher in secondary school.

Giacomo Santerini

Degree in computer engineering and robotic engineering. He worked with the Educational Robotics group of Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies, with the task of training and robotic experimentation at the schools in the Tuscan territory. He is now an electronics teacher for secondary schools.

He gained experience in the field of graphic arts and design following specialization courses.

Elmira Farrokhtakin

Elmira received her Bacherlor Degree in Nuclear Physics and Master Degree in Solid State Physics in Tehran (Iran). In Iran she also worked as a project manager for various companies and was also a physics teacher for high schools. She has collaborated as an assistant at international communications for an NGO in support of people with neuropsychological disorders. She holds a PhD degree in Nanomaterials for nanomedicine applications from Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna. Her research was focused on the synthesis of nanomaterials and their diagnostics and therapeutic aspects . From 2015 she is a co-founder of Great Robotics, a spin-off specialized in robotics. She has collaborated in education activities for schools  and bigger events like the International Pisa Robotics Festival.. She is actually teaching physics and mathematics at high school.

Massimiliano Valente

Massimiliano is graduated in Psychology from University of Florence. He realized his PhD studies at Advanced Robotics team of Italian Institute of Technologies (IIT), where he focused his research on human reaction and learning in immersive virtual environment and human tactile sensibility. During his Post Doctoral Fellowship which was held at the BioRobotics Institute of Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna he collaborated, as psycophysical researcher,  in developing prostethic hands with artificial tactile sensing. His research carrier was followed at  Educational Robotics group of BioRobotics Institute. He co-directed  the Regional Network of Educational Robotics, in Tuscany, by holding courses and workshops for school teachers of all levels. He was involved in the study of educational impact of robotics in learning at school level, which was carried out at schools integrating  technological aspects of robotics within conventional didactics. From 2015 he is a co-founder of Great Robotics, a spin-off specialized in educational robotics. Actually, he is an active member in organizing robotics activities and projects for schools, for exhibitions, museums and other bigger events, the International Pisa Robotics Festival.

GREAT Robotics' mission is to offer innovative products and services in the sectors
of education, entertainment and art through technologies and advanced systems

GREAT Robotics was born in 2015 as a spin-off of the Sant'Anna Higher University School of Pisa.

Created by a multidisciplinary group of researchers from the Institute of BioRobotics that has been involved in research and training with schools and teachers since 2005.

The experience gained and the different backgrounds in automation, psychology, philosophy, theater and school, make it possible to develop and organize new activities in line with technological and social progress.
